Maybe you have applied for the MISSION 48.1000 and you weren’t selected as participant. Maybe you thought the MISSION 48.1000 was a bit too much for you. Don’t worry! We have something challenging for you as well. Here’s your chance to participate in the 'easy' version during the same weekend, while still having time in between your rides to watch and virtually support the selected MISSION 48.1000 participants.

When you think that you are free to decide how long you ride before you take your first rest, guess again….

The distance of each of the stages is preset, so you will need to carefully plan your rides and rests. Oh, and some sleep here and there would be nice as well, right?

MISSION 48.500 RULES

1.
MISSION 48.500 is an official STRAVA challenge and by participating you will have the chance to add the highly desired FINISHERS BADGE to your STRAVA Trophy Case. Sign up right away to participate

2.

 Those that complete 500km in the 48hrs of the 10th and 11th of April will earn the FINISHERS BADGE. If you want to have the special and challenging experience and planning 'fun' as the participants of the MISSION 48.1000, do as they do and comply to these rules

3.

The participants of the MISSION 48.500 will ride all stages solo, making use of a regular sportive bike, such as a road-, mountain-, gravel-, cyclocross or TT bike

  • Stage 1 is 40KM

  • Stage 2 is 55KM

  • Stage 3 is 70KM

  • Stage 4 is 85KM

  • Stage 5 is 100KM

  • Stage 6 is 150KM

 

4.
The maximum deviation of the number of kilometers per stage is 3%, as long as the total number of kilometers of the 6 rides is 500 kilometers or more. For example: the total kilometers of the final stage needs to be between 145,5 and 154,5 kilometers

5.
The participant is responsible for planning the routes of each of the stages, taking the rule into account that a minimum of 50% of the roads, tracks, trails of the stage will only be used once during that stage

 

6.
All stages have to be outside and the STRAVA activity will show the route which the participant has ridden. No indoor rides are allowed. Neither on an indoor trainer or on an indoor track.

 

7.
All stages are recorded with a gps device and uploaded as individual public activities to STRAVA. Those that finish, will record a total of 6 rides.

8.
It is not allowed to make use of the support of an (electric) motor of any kind.

9.
The participants are free to decide when they will start the MISSION 48.500, as long as the start time is after 00:00 CET on the 10th of April 2021.

10.
The participants must take a rest of a minimum of 15 minutes between each stage.

Rules 3 to 10 do not apply to the official STRAVA challenge and are not influencing the chance of earning the STRAVA finishers badge.
